Sophie Siadou, Valençay 2023

Sophie Siadou's vineyards can be found in the Loire's region of Valençay. Separated into two main areas, each straddling either side of the Modon, a winding tributary of the famous Cher river, with different soil types on either side of the banks. This unique geographic profile results in bright, flinty and utterly mouthwatering reds. Valençay 2023 expresses all the lightness and elegance of Pinot Noir (30%), with the unmistakably, wonderfully floral Gamay (35%) quality, tempered with its leaner, more structured Malbec (35%) side. A bright acidity combines with a sturdy wash of tannins that expertly balances its succulent flavours of raspberries, blackcurrant, and spice.
